INTERN (RESEARCH)

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct web based and secondary research on relevant issues, mostly peer-reviewed journal articles.
Collecting and analyzing other pertinent qualitative and quantitative information;
Collect and analyse socio-economic and environmental data, and synthesize information;
Generate quantitative data charts/tables/graphs, and consolidate and update references list to policy briefs/papers/reports when required;
Support the development of knowledge products;
Assist in preparing inputs to Torque Communities website and other relevant social media sharing / learning platforms

Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills, in English;
Ability to work under pressure and time constraint, and produce quality outputs;
Computer literacy, including use of Word and Excel;
Ability to synthesize large amounts of research material into accessible summaries;

Desired Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in social studies, development studies, social policy, economics, sustainable development or related fields.
Familiarity with research work in general

Duration: 1 Month (extendable)

RESEARCH ASSISTANT
REF: TC01

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct web based and secondary  research on relevant issues
Conducting desk reviews pertaining to conceptual, programmatic and financial activity of relevant work;
Collecting and analyzing other pertinent qualitative and quantitative information;
Providing research analysis of country-specific information related to development challenges, national policies and strategies, donor activity, and other salient issues;
Performing additional research support as required to the team
Compile research materials in a systematic way and prepare background briefs/briefing notes as and when required;
Collect and analyse socio-economic and environmental data, and synthesize information;
Generate quantitative data charts/tables/graphs, and consolidate and update references list to policy briefs/papers/reports when required;

Knowledge Management
Synthesize and document lessons learnt and best practices;
Support the development of knowledge products;
Assist in preparing inputs to Torque Communities website and other relevant social media sharing / learning platforms

Minimum of one year experience in carrying out and supporting research and experience with report writing.
Familiarity with intergovernmental, nongovernmental organizations and the international development arena more broadly.

RESEARCH WRITER

Primary Responsibilities

Create research reports and articles on a part-time basis with flexible working hours and deliverable based compensation.

Master’s degree or higher in social studies, development studies, social policy, economics, sustainable development or related fields.
