Objective: APWASI is a three-year project which aims to improve access to safe water and sanitation services – particularly for women and vulnerable groups – in two disadvantaged urban communities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi – Frash Town and James Town – which face various water and sanitation issues.
Specific Objectives:
a. Extract gender disaggregated data on WASH and Climate Change for the purpose of gender-sensitive policy-making leading to improved outcomes for underserved communities.
b. The goal of APWASI is for the communities to have improved governance of their urban water systems and enhanced community resilience to climate change and other water-related shocks. APWASI is an Australian-funded program implemented by WWF-Pakistan in partnership with IWMI.
